From Kindergarten Teacher to Superintendent, Baker Rises Through the Ranks to Lead District into a New Era Dominated by Technology and Collaborative Learning Redwood City School Board President Dennis McBride announced at the April 8 board meeting that the Board of Trustees has selected Deputy Superintendent John Baker to lead the district beginning July 1, 2015. Hoover Community School has been named a Seal of Excellence School by the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE), and will be recognized at CABE’s 40th annual conference March 4-7 in San Diego. Hoover was one of only three schools statewide to be selected for this honor, and is being recognized for its Sobrato Early Academic Language (SEAL) program.
