Inspiring students to DREAM of their future, BELIEVE in themselves, and ACHIEVE their goals!

Welcome to Roosevelt School! We are a TK-8 school in the district and we are thrilled to have both a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class on the Roosevelt campus and in 2013/2014 we had the great honor to graduate the first 8th grade class in our school's 64 year history. Grades K-8 offer a Project Based Learning (PBL) curriculum.

PBL focuses on the core academics, with in-depth investigations in social studies and science. Students are challenged to work cooperatively, think critically and present their work in front of an audience. A variety of engagement strategies are used to ensure that all students are focused and participate.

Our 2013 Academic Performance Index (API) scores showed a significant gain of 13 points for a score of 801 (passing the state's goal of a score of 800 for all schools). In 2013, the California Department of Education gave Roosevelt school a 9/10 in the API Similar Schools Rank.

As the only school in the Redwood City School District that has integrated PBL into all classrooms benefiting all students, we are proud to see our hard work recognized. Congratulations to our laudable teachers and staff through whose hard work our school has garnered many awards and achievements:
  • 2014 All-Star Teacher Nomination for Sarah Coyle
  • 2014 J. Russell Kent Award by the San Mateo County School Boards Association for Pencil Box News
  • 2013 Golden Bell Award by the California School Boards Association

  • 2013 San Mateo County Teacher of the Year – Sarah Coyle

There's more to come in 2014/2015!
