Overview of What Henry Ford Student Council Does
Welcome to the Henry Ford Student Council site. We are a group of elected officers and representatives in third through fifth grade that work hard on displaying responsibility, respect and hard work so we can be good role models for the students at Henry Ford. As student council members we help out with school-wide spirit-days, community projects and are key members in the weekly flag salute. We will announce Special Theme Spirit Days about once a month or every other month.
We kicked off this year with Aloha Day!
Check out some of the pictures of the class officers, students and teachers showing their Aloha! Every Friday is Spirit Day at Henry Ford! Wear your Henry Ford Blue or your School t-shirt or sweatshirt to show your Mustang pride!
This year Student Council will also be helping to organize activities that will help benefit members of our community. A few things we have planned are a Food Drive, Pennies for Patients, Donating some of our amazing art work to a Senior Center and one other event but that’s for our teachers and it’s a surprise so you’ll just have to wait!
October and November Up-date
The Student Council Representatives and Officers have been hard at work this past month to help Henry Ford Organize two very successful events. One event that we worked hard on to organize was the second Spirit Day! The other event that lasted almost the whole month was the Food Drive. We have been having a lot of fun organizing and getting the message out to the classrooms.

This month we were working on being responsible at Henry Ford. We thought that we would also have a Spirit Day to go along with that character trait. We choose Career Day! Students came to school dressed up like what they wanted to be when they grow up. We saw Chefs, Soccer players, teachers, marine biologists, skate boarders, and I even think we saw an extra Ms. Shanley walking the halls! It was fun to see what people wanted to be.
The Food Drive was a huge success! All the classrooms participated. We were able to have reusable bags that were donated by Fleet Feet sports of San Francisco in all the classrooms and got over 620 food items that will be given to the Shelter Network here in Redwood City. Thank you to all the families that donated.

Keep checking back as we will be keeping busy this year! Our next job is to meet with Children Nutrition Services next month and give them our feedback on the lunch program! Happy Holidays from the Student Council!
