 Roy Cloud SchoolThe Roy Cloud Staff is dedicated and works hard to provide a well-rounded standards based program. Roy Cloud has high standards for both academic achievement and behavior. Our staff believes that all students can and will meet or exceed grade level standards. Curriculum is both challenging and differentiated at all levels. On any given day, a variety of best teaching practices can be seen in our classrooms. As a result our STAR test scores have continued to make steady progress. Roy Cloud has seen an increase 72 points since 2002. An active parent community has contributed to the success of Roy Cloud students. Parent volunteers are on campus helping out in classrooms, in the computer labs, in the library and on the school yard. The Parent Teacher Association or PTA is active in raising funds to pay for our PE program andour Reading Intervention, support our technology program, run our Art in Action program, fund field trips, and maintain music in our kindergarten and first grade classrooms. Additionally, students have a variety of opportunities to participate in extra curricular activities beyond the school day. Activities such as chess, drama, chorus, science lab, and Spanish are some of the enrichments offered to our students. There is also the "TLC" or The Learning Center that activeily supports our school wide reading and mathematics curriculums by providing extra help with homework and difficult concepts. Not only does our school provide a rigorous academic program, we also believe that it is equally important to create positive memories in the lives of their students that is key to success not only in school, but in life. Together the Roy Cloud community, parents and staff strive to build a safe and positive learning environment. |
