Overview of Roy Cloud's Student Council Advisor: Ms. Gaudio
Student Council is the student governing body run by elected sixth through eighth grade student leaders and 4thand 5thgrade student representatives. Student Council activities promote leadership, planning skills, and school spirit. Individual classrooms may present concerns for discussion or consideration through their classroom representatives. The student council members meet regularly with Ms. Gaudio, the Student Council advisor. The president and vice president share information with the Roy Cloud School Site Council.
Purpose:
Promote leadership
Promote citizenship
To be involved in community events like the Second Harvest Food Drive and the Toy Drive
To discuss problems and ideas and make recommendations to the Student Council Advisor or Principal to improve the spirit of the school
To sponsor student activities that are fun for all students
Elections for Student Council officers are held at the beginning of the year. In grades 4 and 5, one representative and one alternate is elected from each classroom. Students in grades 6 - 8 can run for the following positions: president, vice-president, Spirit Coordinator, Sports Coordinator, Treasurer, and Secretary. Once elected the officers and classroom representatives meet every month. They organize school-wide events such as: spirit days on Fridays, Second Harvest Food Drive in November, Toys for Tots in December, Walk to School Day, Earth Week Day, and No Waste Lunches.
